Replay ads

What exactly will change and in which cases will Replay ads be shown?

You will now be shown Replay ads on the participating channels when you:

  • watch a Replay program, a recording from the last seven days or a program you’ve already started from the beginning --> short seven-second ad
  • fast forward in a linear ad block of a Replay program or recording from the last seven days --> ads lasting at most 130 seconds
  • pause a program --> static ads, only while the program is paused

This means that you must watch advertising blocks, but they are shorter than before.

Which channels are affected?

You can continue to watch Replay TV as usual on most TV channels. Currently, only around 20 private German and Swiss TV channels are planning on using the new advertising options:

  • ProSieben
  • ProSieben MAXX
  • Puls 8

  • TV25
  • VOX

Nothing will change on the other channels. However, all channels can join or withdraw from the industry agreement at any time.

How can I avoid Replay ads?

With the monthly option TV Comfort, you will not see the Replay ads on yallo and you can also skip regular commercials in Replay on the participating channels even easier with just one click.
If you have a valid yallo TV subscription, you can activate and deactivate the TV Comfort option in my yallo at any time.

Once you have purchased the TV Comfort option, please log out of yallo TV and then log in again to activate TV Comfort.

Why is a change being made to Replay/time-shifted viewing?

Since TV channels have lost important advertising revenue as a result of the fast-forward function, they were able to impose a significant price increase. For us as a TV provider, this means that our fees for TV channels will increase if we want to continue offering the Replay function with a fast-forward option. Following this change to the Replay function, you will have to watch advertising blocks, but these are shorter than the advertising blocks on live TV. Furthermore, in contrast to our neighboring countries, time-shifted television will continue to be available throughout Switzerland for seven days. If you don’t want to see Replay ads, you can activate our fee-based option «TV Comfort» in your «my yallo» account.
